Many women shun weight training believing that this will make them muscular and unfeminine. Weight training won't make women bulky and muscular like men and here's why.
We have all seen muscular women on television competing in bodybuilding contests and sporting events. They look so muscular and bulky, they are no longer feminine. We don't want to look like that, do we?
These muscular women have done more than weight training to get the kind of body that they have. Their diet is different and they use anabolic steroids and other drugs to promote the production of testosterone in their body that will assist in achieving the muscle mass required for the sports.Their diet and exercise routine are specifically targeted at building bulky muscles.
We don't have to do the same weight training exercise they do. What we want from weight training is to strengthen our muscles not to become more muscular but so that these muscles will help in burning the fat in our body. Muscles at rest burn more calories. Anyway, women don't produce enough testosterone to build the muscle mass the way that men do.
Another myth that is believed is that if one stops weight training, the muscles will turn into fat. Muscles don't turn into fat. Food turns into fat. If you stop weight training, you'll just lose muscles and you'll start to eat and not exercising. This food is what turns into fat. When you lose lean muscles, the body loses the ability to burn fat.
For women, weight training will strengthen and tone their muscles which will help in fat burning and also increase their metabolism. Weight-training will not make women bulky like men. This is just a myth.
